Findings Report - Phase 1 Community Consultation

Phase One - Community Consultation Background

As part of the first stage of involving the community in the development of Towyn & Kinmel Bay’s Place Plan, we provided a range of face to face and digital options to have your say.

TKBVOICE worked in partnership with Create Streets, a social enterprise, and together we created an interactive map for you to pin your comments about what you liked and disliked about where you live, work and enjoy your leisure or holiday time in.

It was the first time this application was used in Wales, and we're delighted that TKB was the first mover and the home of digital innovation with the community. It was a success providing another channel for members of the public to make their comments about specific streets and areas in Towyn and Kinmel Bay.

The map like our #LoveTKB digitalPostcards were available for public comments from 1st April - 18th April. After this date, we read your comments, along with the #LoveTKB postcards and produced a report on the findings discussed with members of the Community Partnership at the end of April. This informed our May community consultation events and the second phase of the consultation process.

Phase Two - The Place Plan

As part of the second stage of involving the community in the development of Towyn & Kinmel Bay’s Place Plan, we again provided a range of face to face and digital options to have your say.

If you were not able to attend the face to face consultation event on the 26th and 27th May, you could view our ideas by downloading the Consultation Panels here.

You could make comments in a number of ways:

  • TKBVOICE continued to work in partnership with Create Streets, a social enterprise, who created an interactive map that posted our ideas and asked how you rated them. You were able to comment on them here.

  • You could also also use our #loveTKB postcards to submit your views online here – telling us the ideas that you loved, and the areas for improvement from the ideas shared

  • Finally, you could email comments to info@tkbvoice.wales with your views and priorities.

You were able to make comments using our digital consultation tools from midnight Wednesday 25 May until midnight Friday 10 June.

This process provided a great opportunity to get involved in shaping the future of Towyn and Kinmel Bay.

By sharing your views and priorities, everyone who participated directly contributed to the Place Plan we have develop for Towyn and Kinmel Bay together.

Thanks for taking the time to comment throughout the process! We appreciate it.
